At the heart of The Auckland Project sits the historic Auckland Castle, once the seat of England’s powerful Prince Bishops, and home to a series of remarkable paintings by Spanish master Francisco de Zurbarán. Visitors to Auckland Castle will walk in the footsteps of former Bishops and witness how these figures changed history. They will encounter some of the most important and decisive moments in the Castle’s history, and uncover the stories and personalities of its key residents. PLEASE NOTE: We are temporarily closed due to Covid-19.

I understand the castle is closed . But ,Are you able to park and look around the grounds?

You can look around the grounds which are very interesting and expansive however you cannot park there. There is at least one outdoor car park and an indoor one too within a 5 minute walk.
