This was a real antidote to the large shiny tourist attractions of central London. The museum is small, but modern, with really interesting information boards, a cut-away model and maps and some hand… Faburt的完整评论

I think you will find that any pictures of the shaft you may have seen tend to exaggerate its depth. There is a sturdy hand rail from top to bottom and the rise is not steep. I tend to suffer with vertigo especially on open stairs and was rather apprehensive when I saw the pictures of the shaft on the web site but in the event I had no problem at all.

I.K.Brunel's home & offices in London toward the end of his life were at 18 Duke Street. Whitehall. The site was demolished I believe when the Colonial Office (later the Foreign & Commonwealth Office) was built. Do you know exactly where 18 Duke Street was originally sited in Whitehall? Brian

The nearest station is Rotherhithe, an overland line to get there change from Jubilee line at Canada Water. Or it is about a 15 minute walk from Bermondsey or Canada Water.
