We used BIKE MAUI and they were amazing. We had more tan enough time on the summit to see the sunrise. Not wanting to pack heavy outerwear for a Hawaiian vaca. , this company provides all cold weather gear including hats, gloves, oats, rain proof pants. If you bike down, they have a van that follows u and down mountain , so I felt safe . if you decided to stop or had an accident they were there to load the bike and get you down safely
I understand we have to bring our own gloves, do you recommend waterproof gloves in case of rain? Is the jacket you provide also a raincoat with a hoody or should we bringing our own raincoat. How much water should we bring? Several bottles or four or five? Can we put all these extra items in the van or do we need a backpack to carry everything?

The company we used included the rain/cold weather gear, including gloves. It is very cold up there so be sure you dress appropriately. We used Bike Maui.

We used BIKE MAUI. ..I highly recommend them. You use their bikes and you go at your own pace. They also will provide all the gear needed for the summit as it is very cold, wet and windy up there. Their van will be up and down the mountain a few times just in case you get into trouble and need assistance. As a 66 yr old who had not biked in several years, that was a positive for me!
