I could recommend some places. If you like hiking and nature you should go to big Almaty lake, Kolsai lakes, Sharyn national park. You go there by tour, taxi or rent a car. Almaty had some nice parks, mosques and churches. There might be still the chance for snowboarding or skiing at Shymbulak. North of Almaty is Qapschaghai with a beautiful big lake. In march it might be still to cold for swimming.
I’m sorry I cannot advise you as I ride up and down with a group and the tour leader paid. I’m sure it is not expensive though as prices everywhere in Almaty were very reasonable. Enjoy.
Will be visiting Almaty from 29 March to 1st April 2015 on a tight business trip.Can anyone suggest what places can I cover in between the breaks, and one full day break.
