I’d allow an hour for the maze and another 30 minutes or so for the other attractions. There is also a nice bar / coffee shop there to get a warm drink and some snacks afterwards. That said if you are pushed for time there are plenty of escape routes and you can quickly run through the oddities. Personally I’d take around 2 hours and enjoy the venue.
Is this more of a family oriented place or would a couple in their late 30's enjoy it on their own? Would you recommend it to us as a "must do" or rather as a "do on a rainy day" type of activity? We are planning on paragliding in the morning and in search of an after lunch activity. We plan to spend only the one day in Wanaka.
