There are a lot of fun projects you can do with stepper ... motor types, for example those that have encoder outputs which won’t do anything to drive the motor. Others have a case ground wire.

You’ve got two options: Hard-wire it in stand-alone mode, which practically turns it into a TMC2100, or hook up to its SPI-interface and dial in if you want your stepper motor shaken or stirred.
