In the early 2000s, iRobot created a prototype home companion robot called Grommet, per The Globe’s reporting. But the home robotics market has proven to be a tough nut to crack.

Shares of iRobot (NASDAQ:IRBT) are surging again on Monday, adding another 25% to Friday’s rally which launched the stock above its 200-day moving average for the first time in over 2 years.
