Hyundai strongly believes fuel cells will be one of the important future vehicle technologies globally and we are targeting mass production for consumer retail with an affordable price beyond 2015.

An unnamed Hyundai official told Reuters that Hyundai will mass-produce a Hybrid Elantra through its Kia unit in 2010 and mass produce a fuel cell vehicle starting in 2012 (2015 at the latest).

Hyundai confirmed in 2021 it would introduce a hydrogen fuel-cell “multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) model” – believed to be the Staria – by the end of 2023, but the model has yet to be unveiled.
