The pews have a long history as well ... that this historic landmark is the best stop on the Freedom Trail. Old North Church sits on Salem Street near the Boston Inner Harbor.

Could someone please tell me why some churches are getting rid of their lovely old pews? What are they doing with them when they are taken out? Some of them are made from lovely old oak.
