2024年11月12日 · We received an email from USAFA admissions this morning followed by LOA in portal. We didn’t receive LOI last week so this is a pleasant surprise! Anyone else got notified of LOAs?-Language from the letter-Congratulations! You have been approved for admission to the United States Air Force Academy Class of 2029.

2024年11月12日 · Bottom line is the answer I got is the LOA (or appointment) could come immediately, in early 2025, or not at all. We'll just have to be patient at this point. 2024年9月30日 · They can come any time during the cycle. And, as always stated, they are a nice to have, but not necessary. Just because someone gets an LOA, it does not mean they will actually get the appointment. There are requirements to be met in them usually, and not all meet them. (Ask me how I know).

2024年10月28日 · My kiddo received her LOA in September of her application cycle year ( 2020) and had her full offer of appointment 4 years ago yesterday. Her LOA was clear that it was conditional upon being 3qd- and her appointment came soon after she secured her nomination.

On a similar note, is it beneficial to have a multiple congressional nominations while having a LOA, BUT will be going through DODMERB waiver process. Basically, does a LOA "expire" if a congressman "slots" are used up and there is no longer a spot for his "nominated cadet."

2023年7月28日 · It‘s as simple as that. Consider a couple scenarios: (1) Candidate has LOA come ED deadline. If they apply ED, then the LOA is clearly irrelevant because they prefer another school over the SA. (2) Candidate has no LOA come ED deadline. If they apply ED, they clearly prefer another school.

2024年5月26日 · Probably just a return to the norm. Historically, USMA has given out far fewer LOA's than other SA's. The problem with giving out LOA's is that if the LOA holder gets beat on the slate by a non-LOA candidate, admissions must then find an authorized category to charge the LOA holder's appointment. They can not simply create more slots.

2024年12月23日 · I had everything but the CFA and medicals submitted in mid-December, so about 5 weeks. This is speculation, but I believe I received a principal nomination and received my LOA because of that. From what I understand the majority of appointees do not receive an LOA and hear back from USAFA in March/April.

In the past, USNA has been observed to occasionally send them much later in the cycle, without conditions (because they have been fulfilled), as a sort of “hang on, an appointment’s coming your way” message.
