Founded in 1966, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp is a summer school of the arts located on a 1,600 acre campus in Michigan’s Manistee National Forest, offering fine arts education for all ages.

Facilities consist of a spacious, air conditioned main rehearsal hall, along with several smaller structures and shelters located nearby. Camp Niblock offers a number of camp sites for tents and RVs, and is a short walk through the woods to Faculty Village and Kresge Lodge for meals.

Blue Lake’s Art Colony motivates and challenges students through teaching the fundamental skills and concepts used in creating visual art. Classes emphasize creativity as an integral ingredient in the production of an artistic work, regardless of the individual’s level of experience or ability.

Camp Bernstein (Junior Camp) cabins are large, rustic one-room cabins that have single-user bathrooms within the cabin. Campfire rings, picnic tables, and recreation equipment are located within each unit.

Blue Lake’s Harp Program provides an intensive experience for young harp majors in a non-competitive environment. In keeping with Blue Lake’s core value of being a first-come, first-served program, harpists at any level are welcome.
