2025年1月15日 · The Category button is not available in IMAP because they want to discourage the us as the categories do not sync back to the server. You can either use a macro or assign shortcuts to some categories - and after a category is assigned, right click on the category and change it or add more.

2021年12月11日 · It sounds like the Category option no longer appears in your Outlook Calendar or Appointment Ribbons os that you could not add it. The Category option works wonderful in Exchange email account, so if your current account is an IMAP or POP account, it would be better to configure it to Exchange.

2013年1月31日 · I agree. The category colors are way to small to be useful in the inbox list. In the last version the actual text was the color of the category. It was a much better UX design decision. Wish I had the option to go back to that experience. This make the category option useless if you cant scan them in the inbox.

2024年12月11日 · When you create an event, I can associate a default category to the event, but I cannot manage the categories or create new ones. This makes no sense! I have tried using classic and new Outlook clients and have been unable to make changes. Under Groups in the new Outlook, I can select and edit an event.

You are using new Outlook or Outlook on the web - the master category list in is in View tab > View settings - in new Outlook, it's in Accounts > Categories. In Outlook on the web, its in General > Categories. Click the trash can to delete a category. Click the pencil to edit the category.
