Hey! My lv18 cleric is a Life cleric of Ilmater! As Ilmater wishes to remove suffering there are 2 main guidelines I go by. If it suffers, heal / fix. If it causes suffering, kill quick. No torture, entrapment / imprisonment in grey area assuming it is to gain information to prevent suffering or proper rehabilitation.

Furthermore, there are many different possible interpretations of Ilmater's faith. One cleric might focus on charity while another might focus on destroying evil or the redemptive virtue of pain.

You might take a look at the old 2e supplement Faiths and Avatars, which AFAIK is the biggest discussion of Forgotten Realms religion as it intersects with play.

2023年12月16日 · Hi all, first time posting in this sub. I noticed that the FR wiki had Ilmater's domains listed as Life and Twilight. Life definitely makes sense to me, but the night-time/darkness themes of Twilight seem irrelevant to Ilmater's shtick. Can anyone go into some lore details as to why a Cleric of Ilmater might go the Twilight route rather than Life?
