Fleece lined versions of both types for colder weather. The work pants seem to hold up to rough treatment a little better than jeans — probably because I prefer the comfort of the stretch jeans.

i got motorcycle jeans at first but really they aint great. Get propper motorcycle pants instead. Idk why americans love their jeans so mutch, they are heavy, stuffy, realatively uncomfortable and not as protective as propper fabric gear. Real motorcycle gear often comes with air vents and a removable, warm lining.

Casual Fridays I’d wear my riding jeans. They kinda sucked because the pads were inserted from inside. So I’d either leave the bulky pads in or have to get undressed in the bathroom to remove pads. The well ventilated over pants are best bet. That way you get some airflow on hot days. My riding cargo pants are decent middle ground.

Jeans are horrible pants for extensive longer distance hikes. The seams are thick and poorly made to accommodate repetitive leg motion, eventually resulting in abrasion. The cotton material is sub par for climatic performance.
