It is sited on the River Severn, 33 miles (53 km) northwest of Wolverhampton, 15 miles (24 km) west of Telford, 31 miles (50 km) southeast of Wrexham and 53 miles (85 km) north of Hereford.

2023年7月24日 · Embraced by a loop on the River Severn, Shrewsbury is a market town that wins people over with its Tudor houses, Medieval castle and idyllic riverside park. The watery barrier of the Severn has helped Shrewsbury hang onto more than 600 historic buildings, as well as its “Shuts”, which are sequestered little passageways.

Shrewsbury’s town centre is almost an island, encircled by a meandering loop of the River Severn. Within its loop are distinctive churches, Shrewsbury Castle, beautiful timber-framed houses and a sweeping riverside parkland known as the Quarry or Quarry Park.

Birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury is set amidst the glorious Shropshire countryside near to the Welsh Borders and is one of England’s finest medieval market towns. The town has over 600 listed buildings including the Castle and the Abbey (home of the fictional Brother Cadfael).
