We already have paid enterprise programs we use, but just wanted to start a discussion on what the general favorite software in the type of situations where you just need to download something to a clients computer for a quick scan.

It could be useful if one need to wake up over WOL some devices, but it could be annoying if you travel between job sites and see such dead entries from others network, so if you don't need to keep results of previous scans ...

2021年1月15日 · I use Advanced IP Scanner. When I scan my network at my office, then I see only 3 active hosts (my computer, my router, and my coworker computer). I also see 10 inactive hosts. I thought that inactive means that they are not currently available on the LAN. So I wondering about: Why are the inactive hosts listed? How they can be found?

2023年5月18日 · I think Advanced IP Scanner may be the ticket. I installed NMAP here on my work PC and it rebooted without asking me. Not loving it. I tried Angry IP scanner and it was in the neighborhood, but not quite what I wanted. Anyway, I've got a couple good suggestions, so thanks everyone!

2024年2月14日 · It’s a watering hole attack. All us sysadmin critters will Google “advanced IP scanner” and download the top link before tracking down the executable somewhere on the network. Buy google ads to keep your malicious version at the top and you all of a sudden have your malware getting deployed across enterprise networks for you.

2022年11月11日 · advanced-ip-scanner is a good one so is angery IP scanner. but they both work on ICMP Tom Larence also did a video on Rumble, now called RunZero they are awesome. Their free version might be enough for your needs

I use Advanced IP Scanner. It's free, can be installed or run portable, and works great. If you're looking for something to continuously monitor your network and changes Auvik is the gold standard IMO. There's also runZero, which I don't like as much as Auvik. I've also used ManageEngine OpManager and it works well.

2022年9月6日 · Advanced IP Scanner is a cool tool if you know what IP range you’re looking for. Really intuitive. It just scans a range of IP’s and lists what responds. NOTE: there could be devices that don’t respond to the types of scan requests these tools use. I know some devices are set to not respond to ping.
