2011年10月26日 · A lot of med schools won't take Business Calculus, which may be what your Applied Calculus is. Not sure how your school works, but at mine the night class of Calc I was easier than the ones offered during the day (the professor didn't have to adhere to the department's guidelines or the insane departmental final).

I am in an predicament, I am international transfer student and I have taken Cal I and Cal II at my former non-US institution. However all prereqs have to be taken at US school. I would be very, very careful with trying to pass off Survey of Calc or any other Calc course as "Calc 1".

The main important thing is learning small tricks that you may learn in algebra (again covered in pre-calc) that will help you. But calculus will be an introduction of new concepts that you have not seen before.

2013年3月23日 · I only took calc-based physics long ago, but I was tutoring those in algebra-based physics, which is why I'm familiar with this. Honestly, like you said, it's really subjective. Calculus-based physics (when applied correctly) is more about concepts and the math is just a way to present the work.

2009年4月29日 · The program is set up so that we virtually have no classes the spring before applying to med school (2011). Therefore, I could fit Calculus 1 into my schedule then. Starting with Pre-Calculus this summer means that I will not be able to take Calculus 2. I know this makes me ineligible to apply to some of the top medical schools.
