Braid was cut 25% down the spool - now what? | Bloodydecks
2024年12月19日 · and yes, i've tested uni-to-uni on a few lines (50, 60, and 130), and i got pretty close to line strength, but always breaks at the knot and below full line test strength. that said, i always set my drag for 30-33@strike, so even at sunset, my drag will slip WAY before the breaking point on a U-U knot. i've used them in a pinch many times and ...
Solid vs hollow braid, water-drag and scope with heavy jigs on rail ...
2024年12月14日 · For my Mak 20, I started with 130# solid Daiwa metered braid and could not deal with the 10 meter color changes so I spliced in 70 fathoms of JB 130# hollow in 10 fathom increments. I use this reel on a UC Viper for 300 + gram jigs, and I do not notice any difference between the two ways the reel was set up.
Best 100# braid | Bloodydecks - BDoutdoors
2024年6月27日 · I just got a Mak 20 and want to put good 100# braid on, my favorite braid right now is Varivas but they don’t make a line greater than 85#. What is the best 100# line that provides spools big enough to fill the reel. Reading the specs say it fits 700 yards of 100# so it’s going to be tough to get the right amount.
Metered braid? | Bloodydecks - BDoutdoors
2024年2月4日 · i use on 50 and up, as all of these can end up being used vertically. i go down to 50 for casting small jigs and daytime sinkers, but mostly only need it on 60/80/100 as those are dedicated sinker/jigging most of the time. personally, i use color-change braid that shifts at 100ft increments, previously used sharpie marks at 50's and 100's up to ...
Downrigger question - braid or wire? | Bloodydecks - BDoutdoors
2019年6月10日 · Braid is nice in that it has less blowback and easier to retie if you need to take a few sections off. But I had it break a spool on my Scotty, and also lost a ball when what must have been a nick on the pulley cut the braid.
How often do you change your Braid fishing line? | Bloodydecks
2017年4月19日 · As noted, braid will not deteriorate or rot, but needs to be replaced based on how worn/nicked up it is. There are no truly strong connections for tying braid to braid (talking solid braid, not hollow splicing). Better off replacing the whole thing if the section of line in good condition is starting to get short.....
Berkley pro spec braid | Bloodydecks - BDoutdoors
2019年10月15日 · Great line. Reasonably priced. My go to braid for #80 and under set-ups. I like the #80 Pro spec braid which covers leaders #30-#60, maybe 20 and 25 too... I haven't used #80 leader with it but I'm sure it can handle it in a breeze. Cast-ability, it casts well with the flyline and surface iron on #40 top shot.
Hollow Or Solid Braid – Which Is Right For You? - BDoutdoors
2020年5月1日 · Seaguar’s Smackdown is an 8-strand braid that is both super strong and super smooth and quiet. While braided lines can be, and are, made with use 4 or 6 strands, 8-strand makes the perfect solid braid. Smoothness comes from the fact 8 strands are braided together in a weave that is not only tight, but the strands are also braided closely ...

2021年7月21日 · It is also one of the quietest spectras I have used. Have recently however.. in jigging applications,, switched to the Daiwa J-Braid in 40# in the metered multi-colored braid for jigging because Sufix does not make the 832 in a colored metered line. That metered line is a must for jigging tuna in 2000 ft of water.
Why Hollow Braid? | Bloodydecks - BDoutdoors
2020年11月30日 · There are a bunch of great points made by this group of experienced fisherman above. I believe it comes down to confidence in what you use. I prefer solid braid and knots. I think that the bait swims with solid better, and I have full confidence in my knots. Both solid and hollow work well. Get your connections down with either and fish hard.
