2019年6月19日 · I have always avoided mounting a glow engine up-side-down because of the problems I have seen some people have at the field. Difficulty starting is the most common problem. I have seen many experienced pilots have to turn their plane up-side-down to get them started and then struggle to get them right side up for launch.

If using mounting brackets, they should be installed with the closed end to the firewall and the open end to the engine.If using the mounting stand-offs, the cut ends should be mounted to the engine. If additional mounting height is needed, it should be placed between the mounting hardware (brackets / stand- offs) and the firewall.

2016年11月21日 · This allows easy engine swapping for testing or just "because". Aluminum mounts are stiffer and probably allow more power transfer to the propeller due to less flexing. On this size engine, I have used both aluminum and composite mounts and found that the composites performed adequately and safely for general (sport) flying.
