While on Active Duty - MGIB pays the soldier Tuition Reimbursement = whatever the cost of that class is what VA will pay you. Post 9/11 GI Bill would pay the tuition to the school and a Book Stipend of $41.67 per credit hour.

VA gets the $41.67 by taking $1000 total possible 9/11 book stipend divided by 24 estimated credits per year times your actual eligibility percentage. So if it's not 100%, it will be prorated. And it's probably the book stipend. I heard a student on my campus talking about getting theirs today.

2022年8月21日 · No, Only Post 9/11 GI Bill pays that $1000 book/supply stipend and it's not paid out as lump sum payment at the beginning of the academic year - it's paid out at $41.67 per credit hour. VR&E doesn't do that. VR&E instead will pay 100% of the cost of Required Books and supplies (hence need for syllabus).

Since you are asking, this is apparently your 1st semester - Book Stipend is an annual amount of $1000.00 per year but that doesn't mean you get it all at once, the VA spreads it out over the year, so for most it works out to $500.00 for fall semester and $500.00 for spring semester and nothing for summer classes.

VA pays the book stipend by credit hour - it’s paid out at 41.67 per credit hour. &41.67 times 24 credit hours equals $1000. So if you did 24 credit hours since 1 August 2021, you have reached the annual CAP.
