It's not the end of the world, and the glipizide starts working again as soon as I take it (i.e. it doesn't have to build up like metformin). Still, getting a prescription renewed should only take a phone call, unless your doctor requires an office visit before he'll renew.

My weight has been stable for 9 or 10 months now, but in the 12 days since the Glipizide increase, I've gained 5 or 6 pounds. It may be water weight because it tends to come and go from day to day, but there is a very clear upward trend.

2023年7月21日 · The gastric side effects of metformin went away when I added back in (increasing the dose gradually), and I've never noticed any side effects from glipizide. I started taking glipizide on April 11 and was up to the 2,000 mg metformin + 5 mg glipizide on May 21.
