2016年4月30日 · If they make a Falcon with Trestle bracing grab it - issue solved. Gretsch do Trestle bracing in the Setzer 6120's models so the Nashville & Hot Rods are my fav's partly for this reason. I think these 6120 Hot Rods also sound better than Falcons due to the TV Jones Setzer sig pups but they don't have that Falcon style

I contacted what I thought was Gretsch but got an answer from a nice guy from Fender. He sent me a spec sheet for the White Falcon II of the Fender era listing the pickups as High Sensitive alnico Filtertrons.

2011年9月4日 · All the Gretsch models are different and fabulous. I'm not a White Falcon kinda guy myself - too flashy and delicate an instrument for me. They sound great but there's many other Gretschs which sound just as great or better. The Setzer 6120 SSVLO is my fav Gretsch and I'd prefer a Tennessee Rose to a White Falcon myself.

I liked the sound of the fully-hollow doublecut White Falcon I had (could nail several U2 tones), but the body (17" lower bout) was a bit uncomfortable while sitting, and being fully-hollow, it was a little boomy.

Before you try and get my account banned for putting a Falcon in a gig bag; yes I know that sounds insane...but when I fly I always carry-on my guitars and have never had a problem with my Mono M80 and even fly with my older Les Paul in it.

What is great about the White Falcon, and in general about Filtertron-equipped Gretsch hollowbodies, is that they are far more versatile guitars than "just" rockabilly. My Stephen Stern masterbuilt one-off Tennessee Rose twangs like the best Telecaster I never owned, and growls like a true rock machine.
