2005年7月10日 · I recently did some reading on grouse vs pheasant dogs and am wondering about peoples opinions on working (what I intend to be more of) a grouse dog on pheasants.

2003年4月28日 · Size: Field bred setters are going to run a little bigger than the French Brits, Females usually somewhere in the 35-42 lb range, a female Brit will weigh considerably less, probably somewhere in the 27-35 range. In the grouse woods this is great, pheasant hunting can get a little tough for the smaller dogs.

There will always be some carry over, but habitat and nesting are the two things that dictate how many roosters you have to shoot the following year. This debate is ruled by emotion more so than biology, just like the two lines -vs- one for open water.

( That should ruffle erics feathers lol) I have only had a shorthair for 2 years before that my old man alway had labs so I cant talk any s@!# about them, we have had some great labs.But .

2007年3月18日 · I meant to write six birds total. 5 grouse and 1 wood cock. I will correct. I am sorry PrairieHunter that I started something that you “have been there done that”. I was not trying to start anything. I was stating my point that walking is better than wheeling in a hunting grouse application. Its by far your best chance of getting grouse.

2003年8月25日 · I'm sure it wasn't. I live in west central minnesota and it isn't rare to see that many birds here late in the season when most of the other hunters have called it quits for the season. The pheasant hunting here has improved the last 3 years to where I'd like to see it stay or even get better. Goodluck pheasant hunting this season.
