2022年2月6日 · On the back of the painting, which I saved from his house clearance, is a record of John McPherson R.N. stating this man had served on HMS Lion between 1918 and 1920. John McPherson may well have been a member of the cousin’s wife’s family, the painting possibly handed down through generations although I am guessing at this.

2004年7月6日 · There is a good possibility that a few of HMS Lion's Bandsmen could have been working alongside yr man in that turret. Bandsmen were sometimes employed in shell & propellant handing in action. I have the medals of the Bandmaster of HMS Black Prince, which was sunk at Jutland.
