2022年12月14日 · The heat pump would shut off and the oil would heat the house to satisfy the thermostat. As the house cools down the heat pump would start 1st and the cycle would repeat. The problem with this is as the heat pump reaches temperatures where it won’t keep the house warm the register air will be cooler. Then it is just a matter of cost over comfort.

The thermostat has settings for the cycle rate for each stage. The default settings are 3 cph for the compressor stage and 9 cph for the auxiliary heat stage.

2009年12月5日 · Even at 17 degrees outside, the heat pump is typically 2.5 times as efficient as strip heat. I would not lock out the compressor at all. Also I don't recommend setback for a heat pump, especially below 40 degrees outside.

2008年1月19日 · My heat pump has failed. Compressor will start but then quit shortly later. Inside blower and condenser unit fan continue to run. Tech A says it's a bad reversing valve. No temp difference between discharge suction lines in or out of reversing valve. Believes valve solenoid is clicking, but valve isn't switching. Tech B says it's a bad compressor.

My son kept complaining about the unit making a loud noise when the unit starts up (his bedroom is right by A/C units). I'm also able to hear it in the kitchen and outside, even standing a very long distance from the unit.
