Deodar cedar is a fine textured evergreen tree in the Pinaceae (pine) family native to the area from Tibet to Afghanistan. Its form is broadly pyramidal when young, but its pendulous or weeping branches become wide and spreading as its central leader often dies out.

Karl Fuchs Himalayan Cedar is a evergreen needled cultivar of the Deodar cedar in the pine family (Pinaceae). The parent of this plant was discovered in Afghanistan and cultivated by Karl Fuchs in Scheveningen, Germany in the mid-1970s. Plant it in the full sun to partial shade in moist well-drained soil.

Young trees start out pyramidal but age to become wide-spreading and flat-topped.
