Jayabharathi (born 28 June 1954 as Lekshmi Bharathi [1] [2]) is an Indian actress and two-time recipient of the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress and National Film Award by Special Jury Award - Special Mention.

Jayabharathi was the actor who featured in the only song that legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar sang in Malayalam which is Kadhali Chengadhali from the film Nellu (1974). She was also featured in a song sequence sung by Lataji’s sister Asha Bhosle .

Jayabharathi is an Indian actor and dancer, who primarily is part of the Malayalam and Tamil film industry. As of February 2024, she has acted in over 350 films in multiple languages. Some of her noted films are Madhavikutty (1973), Rathinirvedam (1978), and Marupakkam (1990).
