I thought about rolling all ceilings with drywall mud and let dry then lightly sand and add second layer of texture and knockdown using what? sponge? roller?

I have tried to match this texture on several test pieces and can't seem to match it. The texture is very thick. I'm using joint compound thinned out like pancake batter.

2008年3月16日 · I plan on scraping the tops off, as much as possible with one or two quick passes. Then skimming on up to two coats, applied horizontal and then vertical to minimize "skipping" over the remaining texture. Once that is sanded close to smooth, applying a knockdown texture by spraying thinned compound and then knocking it down.

2014年4月9日 · I bought mine slightly used at a steal. :thumbup: Adjustable pressure nob to adjust the spray BUT I have noticed you can leave the same tip on and leave the air pressure the same, just adjust the thickness of the mud depending on the type of texture (knockdown/orange peel). 2011年9月23日 · Unless of course you paint your ceilings last after texture is applied instead of beforehand. Then it should be ok but hard to patch if something that needs to be repaired at a later date. My guess is that an additive is added to the ceiling texture products so that this scenario "yellowing" doesn't happen.

2011年8月15日 · Knockdown ceilings For my ceilings I dont use any type of special bag mix. Just regular CGC Machine Mud. I use Machine Mud for absolutely everything. Tape, Beads, Fill, Skim, Designs. You name it, Machine Mud!

Even if patch is good,, when you go to texture and knock it down the existing tex will cause chatter marks and show when painted.... that was until I tried the Knockdown Knife the Marshalltown ...
