Marienplatz (English: Mary's Square, i.e. St. Mary, Our Lady's Square) is a central square in the city centre of Munich, Germany. It has been the city's main square since 1158.

You can see the Marienplatz and the entire city from above, either from the Alter Peter (church) – Munich's landmark with over 300 steps – or comfortably from the tower of the New Town Hall, which has a lift.
