2011年6月30日 · I was contracted to build this model for an elderly gentleman who can no longer work on this type of project. It is a multi-media die cast model of the 1955-56 Ferrari D50 driven by Fangio in the Gran Prix circuit. It is an Italian kit and has very vague instructions for building. Just several exploded drawings.

On this build I used some of my own resin vast parts such as the dual 4bbl manifold and carburetors. I also didn't use the decal hood stripes as they are really too small compared to the factory stripes, so I painted my own in the 2nd and 3rd kit builds.

The models get payed by the car manufacturer and are given as a gift. You buy a car for 500.000 to 1.000.000 and get a replica model of your car for our office desk.

Some have cool showrooms with huge turntables and while the vendor is describing the car, it slowly spins on that platter.

Since Roth couldn't make the fiberglass bodies exactly perfect, like a steel stamping from Detroit, the Revell model builders also inadvertantly copied some of the real car's imperfections into the kit.
