2014年6月7日 · I recently bought my first PRS from guitar center used, a beautiful charcoal burst 509. I can’t expalin how great of a guitar it is. It plays phenomenal, keeps tune even with excessive Trem use, and resonates forever even without being plugged in. It’s an exemplary core PRS. When it comes to tone it is an absolute beast.

2024年6月1日 · Since these guitars were created, PRS has continued to work on understanding Pick-ups and improve their 'split' sounds. On top of the fact that guitars like the 509 may not 'sell' if it has bespoke Pick-ups that can't easily be swapped, so only those that 'like' the 509 would buy - it maybe somewhat of a 'marmite' guitar for PRS.

2017年5月27日 · The 509 behaves exactly like my 408's in that regard. Also, in the 513, the DC resistance in the modern humbucking modes are almost double the singlecoils which pretty much confirms the 509 is not a split. So, I think that all points towards the hybrid. As far as why PRS went to this design, I don't know.

2015年1月21日 · In my opinion, PRS do not currently make another guitar like the 509. The closest is probably the Studio (or maybe Fiore?), but that's still quite different. If you are looking at the 509 because of the way the Pups and Electronics are arranged and the versatility that offers, then its worth at least trying one yourself, make up your own mind.

2017年5月25日 · The 509 and Special basically have the same controls as a Core MEv - 5-way Blade, Master Tone/Volume and 2 mini-toggles, with the 'only' differences being the way they are wired. The Special gives 12 Pickup selection Options because Position 3 gives both HB's instead of just the 'Middle' Pup like the 509.

2016年12月13日 · For us 513 drivers, it certainly looks like a 513 light, but it's own guitar with its own voice. It is definitely a more vintage sounding PRS. Closer to the strat and tele territory than the 513 ever got. I am currently looking into getting one of the first production 509's, so I can compare it with the GOTM version.

2019年5月20日 · If Dancing Frog's description about the 509's sound is accurate (which I believe it is), then I am sure the 509 is the perfect recording session guitar for me. I am sure Fiore is a fantastic model like other PRS models, but personally I don't really like HSS guitar, this is very subjective. Thank you for recommending the Fiore to me
