2020年10月5日 · MC wax and beeswax promote sticking to molds (great for containers, though!). If you have success with paraffin, it's almost certainly because of the additives. Highly pure grades of paraffin are really susceptible to mottling, not quite like palm which mottles on its own, but still easy to mottle unintentionally.

2023年7月1日 · Did you find that there was less soot when using paraffin palm wax? I currently use IGI 6006 wax. My testing candles give off a lot of soot from the wicks that are too big. I am about to try the paraffin palm wax. I'm hoping it gives off less soot. Also, have you tried 6006 yet? What did you think of it? Did you find that it gave off a lot of soot?

2021年8月16日 · Cold throw was lower than my first batch where I used 100% 464 soy wax. I blended soy and palm wax. 50% 464 soy wax and 50% palm wax, heat to 185F, add FO at 150F, and poured at 120F. Currently curing. Result: Easily attained even top, wax harden very quickly to a very matt and dry top look. I also notice the wax sort of pulled away from the glass.

2023年5月6日 · Palm all by itself has incredible crystal type effects if used in metal molds. It almost disappeared for a while as people got concerned over deforestation in Malaysia etc to grow it. Then a consortium (?) of growers and producers got together, can’t remember the name, to make a network of sustainable farms. Then palm wax appeared again.

2014年9月29日 · Yes you can mix soy and palm together. Whether it will increase the throw will depend on a lot of factors, there is no easy answer when it comes to scent throw. I would start with a 50/50 ratio and adjust the blend from there. There is also a pre blended soy palm wax called Naturewax C-1 that you could try.

2022年2月12日 · Palm wax is a different beast and it's really fun to experiment with. Different temperatures and blending with different waxes and additives can give you extremely different finished looks. Also, this wax feels like sand/sugar before melting and is powdery when you break it after it cools and hardens.

2023年2月7日 · By "palm wax" are you referring to carnuba wax? It isn't a common soap making base oil. Could you? Possibly, but I wouldn't recommend it as a replacement for actual palm oil or soy wax (which is ~86% stearic acid).
