2019年6月12日 · USGS uses a hydrograph to study streamflow in rivers. A hydrograph is a chart showing, most often, river stage (height of the water above an arbitrary altitude) and streamflow (amount of water, usually in cubic feet per second).

Compare the current stage and NWS flood stage with recorded peak stages of previous floods. Present a time-history streamflow along with historical streamflow percentiles.

Cumulative Streamflow Hydrograph. Present a graphical presentation of recent cumulative daily streamflow at a site, plotted over the cumulative long-term statistics (median and interquartile range) of streamflow for each day of the year at that station. Observed minimum and maximum annual cumulative discharges are also plotted.

Functional classification directly employs all data of a discharge time series and thus contains all available information on shape, peak, and timing.
