ALL spots are dangerous in big surf, some more unforgiving than others. If you are struggling to get outside, you're probably better off NOT making it out. What I miss is trunking it in summer. I'll wear a 2mm shorty full, just for the knee support. I've tried braces, but it feels like there is drag while paddling.
