2020年10月26日 · A puppy from miniature parents who is 9 inches would not be a toy, but a small miniature. In my picture, Merlin (apricot) is an oversized toy at almost 11 1/2 inches. Beckie, same height, but heavier, is most probably a miniature. Merlin has smaller bones and struture, smaller paws, and the eyes of a typical toy (kind of bulging).

I realized I might be assuming the standards are more laid back and the toys are more high strung. It's just my personal experience with large and small dogs in general.

I do object to intervariety breeding between minis and standards that people claim are moyens as a marketing gimmick just as much as I object to the use of teacup and royale for the extremes of sizes.

2021年4月29日 · My current toy loves hour long walks. My first toy and all 4 minis preferred shorter 15 to 20 minute walks. None were swimmers. My minis liked typical dog toys. My current toy has never had any Interest in dog toys. Prey/cats. I didn't have a problem with this. My first toy (and later 2 minis) grew up with my parents' two cats and mini poodle.

She opted for a miniature because her Lhasa Apso can play a little rough with Sophie and she wanted something that could stand it's own, but she totally loves Sophie and would have gotten a toy if her other dog was not a consideration.
