So for example a checksum is computed for a sector worth of data and then both are written to the drive. If we read back, we should get the same checksum and if not either the data or the checksum is incorrect.

2015年9月22日 · The good news is that the CRC errors you see are automatically and silently recovered from by the SATA controller. Most often the issue is caused by a faulty, kinked, or poorly seated SATA cable/connection. Don't worry about the count as it stands now (3 is a very low number), but do worry if the count increases over time.

The slowdown is temporary until a reboot, and also on a per port basis so if e.g. ssd on port 0 falls back to sata 300 from sata 600 due to SMART crc errors, the ssd on port 1 if no crc errors will stay at sata 600 speeds.
