Via Krupp is a historic hairpin turn paved footpath on the island of Capri, connecting the Charterhouse of San Giacomo and the Gardens of Augustus area with Marina Piccola. Commissioned by the German industrialist Friedrich Alfred Krupp, the path covers an elevation difference of about 100 m (330 ft). [1]

Close to the center and only steps away from the Charterhouse of San Giacomo, the Gardens of Augustus are comprised of a series of panoramic flower-decked terraces overlooking the Faraglioni on the one side and the Bay of Marina Piccola and Via Krupp on the other.

Via Krupp connects the upper part of the island directly to the sea, arriving at Marina Piccola, a beautiful village with its narrow streets and shops. Via Krupp you can also reach various baths to spend wonderful days between sun and crystal clear sea. Obviously the Krupp route is easy to cover downhill but much less uphill.

The route to reach the Augustus Gardens takes you directly through the center of the town of Capri, along a series of scenic lanes with a sweeping view from the Marina Piccola Bay at Via Krupp to the Faraglioni rock formations.

2024年1月23日 · The Via Krupp is free to visit and remains one of the fastest ways to link the Marina Piccola at sea level to the center of Capri. You can get to the walking path from Capri town from its start at Via Giacomo Matteotti.

2018年4月23日 · Here's a tip for anyone wanting to walk the Via Krupp in Capri: Although the adjacent Augustus Gardens is open and worth a visit for its wonderful views of the Faraglioni rocks on the one side and the Bay of Marina Piccola on the other, the Via Krupp pathway (with its drop of 300 feet) has been closed for decades due to a danger of falling rocks.
