My wife and I purchased our first home towards the end of summer last year. We live in Orange County, CA. Our front yard looks to be in dire need of help.

2024年4月1日 · I am shooting for a mid-May seeding based on soil temps for my area. I want to see how the Bermuda takes and assess the Zoysia seeding in mid to late July. Given Zenith Zoysia is the most widely available Zoysia seed right now, I'll assume that's what I will have to use. I want a Bermuda seed that will blend nicely with Zenith Zoysia seed.

2021年5月9日 · - Yes, but it will take a really long time. If you live in an area where Zoysia can grow, and your conditions will allow you to mow at 2" or less (lower is better for zoysia) the low mowing and summer time fertilizer will make conditions inhospitable for fescue, and the zoysia will take over very slowly.

2024年11月3日 · Most of my neighbors with Zoysia have Empire or the one that looks like really fine hair like troll hair. I just don't like that lime green, I want KBG blue /dark green. Also Zoysia burns when dogs go number 1 where my bermuda just darkens up and gets thicker so I don't get patches where dogs do their business. Its a tough one.

2021年8月13日 · It was sodded with Empire Zoysia in late 2019 and the job wasn't done well. Completely unlevel and the guy that did it said "it was the sod", which I don't believe. I've been fighting this lawn so much. When it looked good, to my wife and in pictures, it was way too long and parting the grass showed thin brown roots, clearly not healthy.

2022年3月31日 · I'm not a zoysia aficionado, but Zorro is supposedly among the best. I would focus on figuring out why your Zorro is not thriving and make the necessary corrections. Seeded varieties generally do not perform as well as hybrids, so you would likely end up with many of the very same issues - along with having a mix of grasses that do not match.

2020年5月25日 · Zoysia is slow to recover, so I babied it. As always, test a small area and see how it responds. Zoysia doesn't like Fusillade or Turflon Ester. But when mixed together at those rates, they cancel each other out and don't affect Zoysia, but still target Bermuda. Go figure. It works though! I'm now 100% Bermuda free!
