If someone is worried that their email might not reach you for some reason, I would reassure them with: Thank you. Your email was safely received (or: received safely). If it's just a normal response to an email, I'd say: I received your email, thank you.

I would like to look at things I wrote before I began working at my present job - so that I wasn't influenced by their rule. Certainly, hyphenate it before a noun. But I am equally comfortable hyphenating it in predicative position ('who are well-informed').
