Palliative care means the care and support you might need if you have a life-limiting illness, such as cancer. It is often also called supportive care.

A bone scan finds any abnormal areas of bone. A scan of your bones is taken 2-3 hours after a mildly radioactive substance is injected into a vein.

If you have liver cancer, or secondary liver cancer, treating the cancer will often improve your symptoms.Other treatments can also help to control symptoms. This is sometimes called palliative treatment or supportive care. Your doctor may refer you to a palliative care team, who are experts in controlling symptoms.
