We Rescued a Few Baby Turtles From Birds

Last week, this baby painted turtle took a dip in the Pigeon River at Hemlock Crossing County Park for its first swim! The hatching period typically occurs from late August to early September; however, turtles from late clutches might stay in the nest throughout the winter and come out in the spring.
