Scrabble: Countdown

From Teaching With a Mountain View: Giant Scrabble! I introduce this by having students gather in a large circle and giving them each seven letters. I asked them each to create a word using their letters. We took the largest word and made it our base. Then as a class, we look for other words students can use to fill in the board. They fumble around with words and often struggle to find gaps and letters they can utilize. I explain the rules to them, I give hints based on words I see formed around
