We’re working on clearing the North Cascades Highway (SR 20). Crews start at the east and west sides of Washington Pass and meet somewhere in the middle. Last Wednesday, the seasonal gates on SR 20 (the North Cascades Highway) were opened. Tootsie’s granddaughter upheld the tradition of bringing cinnamon rolls for the ceremony. This year she also brought cupcakes decorated with images of Tootsie from past openings. SR 20 has some of the most beautiful scenery and access to some of the most amazing backcountry recreation in our state. Not to mention its importance as a northern route connecting the east and west parts of the state. #northcascadesh
