The sparks are flying around our steam shop as restoration work continues on our Southern Pacific steam locomotive #1744. Our Steam Department welder, John B., has been keeping busy working on welding back together our newly machined (thanks to another volunteer, Art) spring packs for the 1744's suspension. John is a welder by trade and comes with his truck ready to work. He has already tackled several projects on the 1744 including frame repairs! More updates to come on our 1744 soon. | Niles C
