Sister Oleksia works at the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Kharkiv. For the first part of Russia’s war in Ukraine she lived in Lviv, where her convent offered shelter to frightened and tired refugees from the frontline areas.
