Get rid of squash vine borers 🐛 If left unchecked squash vine borers will absolutely decimate your squash plants. Moths will lay their eggs on squash stems, the eggs will hatch, and the larva will begin to eat the stems from the inside out. If you see a golden yellow sawdust appear on your stems, you likely have squash borers. You can try to save your plants by cutting the stems open and pulling the borers out. Prevent future eggs from being laid on your stems by wrapping them in aluminum foil.
