Our virtual hike this week travels down the Alpine and Bootjack Trails from Pantoll to Van Wyck Meadow. It takes a while on this route to get away from road noise on Panoramic Highway, but it doesn’t take long at all to find yourself surrounded and dwarfed by redwoods. Various birds call out and a squirrel darts away from its usual hangout by a turn in the trail while we make our sun-dappled way to a lovely little meadow beside Redwood Creek.
